Satyadeep Mishra opens up about his intimate wedding with Masaba Gupta: There was nothing secretive

Fashion designer Masaba Gupta and actor Satyadeep Mishra tied the knot on January 27 in an intimate ceremony after dating for a couple of years. The couple had announced their marriage on social media and shared a few pictures from the ceremony. In a new interview, Satyadeep said that their marriage was not at all secretive and they just wanted to have a small and private ceremony.
“We wanted to do it in an intimate way. We went and signed on the 27th morning and had a small party. There was nothing secretive about it. We have always been very open about the relationship when it started. I also strongly feel that secrecy will sort of affect your relationship. You have to own it and be open about it. It was just that the pictures came like that and everyone was like ‘oh wow’,” Satyadeep told The Indian Express.

The actor said that they met during the shoot of Masaba Masaba season 1. Though Satyadeep isn’t a great talker, he could speak to Masaba for hours with ease. Then the pandemic happened and they got to spend more time with each other.

“I like being around her and am the happiest when I go back home and spend those three hours with her. Which is why it seemed right. It’s a learning; if you can pass through two years of Covid, being all peaceful and happy [it will work]. It happens that you just find somebody, who you vibe better. You do have fights but they get resolved faster. Those things.. It’s a cumulative of all of it,” he added.

Masaba was previously married to producer Madhu Mantena. The couple got married in June 2015 and announced their separation in 2019. Mishra was previously married to actor Aditi Rao Hydari. They divorced in 2013.

Their wedding was also attended by Masaba’s father and West Indies cricket legend Vivian Richards. Masaba had shared pictures of Richards, Neena and her step father Vivek Mehra and written, “The sweetest thing. Thanks for raising me to be a LIONESS @neena_gupta. The gentle entrepreneur in me that you see is all courtesy this man. The kind brain and the most giving heart.”
