By India Today Web Desk: Referring to his speech in Parliament and alleging the Adani Group and Prime Minister Modi’s ‘nexus’, Rahul Gandhi said that more than half of the content of his speech in Lok Sabha was edited before going on record.

In a no holds barred attack on the PM, he said that Modi would be forced to face the truth in the future and that he was not scared of him. The Congress MP also said that though he had provided “proof” of his speech being expunged, he “does not expect it to be brought on record”.

The Gandhi scion said that the prime minister had insulted him by asking about his surname, but his speech was not edited.

On Monday, addressing a public gathering in his constituency Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi said “one day, he (PM Modi) will be forced to face his truth”. He also said that, apparently, saying the words Adani and Ambani together amounted to “insulting the prime minister”. Rahul Gandhi said that he was asked to provide proof for his speech and he has done so.

“I have written a letter to the Speaker with every single point that they have removed and with supporting proof,” he said.

Lashing out at PM Modi and referring to his alleged gestures in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said, “Look at my face when I was speaking (in Parliament) and look at his (PM Modi’s face) while he was speaking. Look at how many times he drank water, how his hand was shaking when he was drinking water… and you will understand everything.”

Rahul Gandhi also said that instead of replying to certain questions, the prime minister chose to ask him why he was not a Nehru.

“I asked him about how Mr Adani has grown so (rich) fast. The prime minister did not answer a single question. His response to my questions was” Why are you not called Nehru?”

“At the same time, the PM directly insults me. He asks why my surname is not Nehru but Gandhi. So the PM of the country directly insults me, but his words are not removed from the record. Maybe Mr Modi doesn’t understand this, but in India, our surname is the surname of our father. But it doesn’t matter because the truth always comes out,” Rahul Gandhi said.

In Kerala, Gandhi said that he was not scared of PM Modi and that the truth would prevail. He asked the public to see the Parliament speech so one could understand what was “going on” in the country. He said it was important to understand the “nexus between the prime minister and Mr Adani”.

“There is a list of wealthy people in the world and in 2014, Mr Adani was 609th on that list and from 609th on that list, he became 2nd on the list,” he said.

“He doesn’t realise the absolute last thing I am scared of is Narendra Modi. It doesn’t matter if he’s the Prime Minister of India, whether he has all the agencies. It doesn’t matter because the truth is not on his side. One day, he will be forced to face the truth,” Rahul Gandhi said.
