By Dipesh D. Tripathi: The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday slammed the 11-month-old Eknath Shinde-led government in the state saying it is ‘illegal’. He also said that the recent Supreme Court’s verdict on Maharashtra political crisis was in MVA’s favour.
While speaking to reporters after key meeting of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) at NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s residence in Mumbai, Raut said, “If there was 40 per cent corruption in Karnataka, there is 100 per cent corruption in Maharashtra, this current government is corrupt and it will get defeated”.
“There is no internal misunderstanding within the MVA. This current (Eknath Shinde-led) government is corrupt and it will get defeated,” he further added.
When asked about topics of discussion in the meeting, the Rajya Sabha member, a close aide of Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray said that the alliance will discuss about seat sharing formulae in the days to come.
It was expected that the formula of allotment of seats in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls in 2024 will be discussed in the MVA meeting. MVA leaders Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, Opposition leader Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil, Nana Patole, Ashok Chavan, and Balasaheb Thorat, among others took part in it.

“Not only Congress but the entire opposition of the country has emerged victorious in Karnataka,” Sanjay Raut said, adding that MVA will win in Maharashtra just like the grand old party did in Karnataka.
Sanjay Raut also termed the Karnataka election results as “entire opposition’s victory”, as Congress won on 135 seats.
Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole was also present during the media interaction and hailed the grand-old party’s win in Karnataka. He said, “Whoever becomes the Chief Minister of Karnataka, we will facilitate him in our ‘Vajramuth’ rally that will be held in Pune.”
