By India Today Web Desk: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is currently in Singapore recovering from kidney transplant surgery, paid tribute to Sharad Yadav, who passed away at the age of 75.
In a tweet, Lalu Yadav wrote, “I feel helpless. There was a meeting before coming here, and we had thought a lot about socialism and social justice.”
“Brother Sharad…I didn’t want to say goodbye like this,” he added.
Former union minister and RJD leader Sharad Yadav passed away at the age of 75 at a private hospital in Gurugram. His daughter Subhashini Sharad Yadav confirmed the news on Twitter on Thursday. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and a son. The former JD(U) chief had been keeping low after battling health issues for months.
A statement from the Fortis Memorial Research Institute said Yadav was brought to the emergency ward in an unconscious and unresponsive state.
“On examination, he did not have any pulse or recordable blood pressure. He underwent CPR as per ACLS protocols. Despite best efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 10:19 pm,” the news agency PTI quoted a statement as saying.
