On Sunday, the new Miss Universe was announced. Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss Universe 2021, took the stage for the final time before passing over the crown to the new Miss Universe. R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States is the new Miss Universe. Harnaaz had her final walk on the Miss Universe platform before presenting the crown to R’Bonney Gabriel.
Harnaaz walked, tripped, and controlled herself as she blew kisses, flashed thumbs up, and held her fist high in the air. Harnaaz also paid particular respect to Miss Universe 1994, Sushmita Sen, and Miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta. Harnaaz has been seen on several occasions discussing how Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta influenced her in life.
Harnaaz can be seen entering on stage with grace and confidence in a magnificent black gown in one of the videos released on Miss Universe’s official Twitter feed. The victory moment of Sushmita Sen from the 1994 beauty pageant can be seen printed on the gown as she walked.
On the back of her gown is a smiling portrait of Sushmita Sen with the Miss Universe crown gently put on her head. Lara Dutta’s winning moment is printed on the reverse side of the gown. The black sequined gown, which had a plunging neckline and translucent accents at the sides of her waist, came with a plunging neckline. It then transitioned to a detailed gown with a white and black bow at the rear of her waist, followed by the winning moment of Sushmita and Lara.

“I was 17-years-old when I first took the stage and since then becoming Miss Universe was my goal. I’ve been given the megaphone on a worldwide stage to present the topic of menstrual equity before world leaders asking them to keep this conversation ongoing.” She also complimented the Miss Universe Organization for providing her with a platform to express herself.
