By Siraj Qureshi: Hundreds of lawyers from Agra are now preparing to travel to Delhi to advocate for the wrestlers who are protesting against the WFI ex-chief at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. They have asserted that they won’t leave the protest site until Brij Bhushan Singh is arrested.
After attending a meeting organised by West Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Janmanch in Agra on Sunday, the senior lawyers have decided to extend their support towards the wrestlers.
As per sources, the lawyers will make a strident call for the Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Singh’s arrest, accusing him of sexual harassment.
Speaking to India Today, the senior lawyers said, “The wrestler daughters of the country have raised the pride of our nation.”
“The country’s name has been elevated to the international stage by bringing the medals home. Today, the same wrestlers are appealing for justice at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, but the government is not listening,” added the senior attorneys.
“Nothing could be more humiliating for the society and the country than this. It is critical to investigate the entire issue, and Brij Bhushan Singh should be fired and imprisoned immediately,” added the lawyers.

Senior counsel Ajay Chowdhary felt it was also essential to mention that the daughters who won medals in wrestling contests organised in other nations and brought them to their country are now waging their own battles. As a result, Agra’s senior attorneys decided today to back those female wrestlers in their fight.
District President of All India Kisan Sabha in Agra, Chaudhary Bhikam Singh questioned, “Why Brijbhushan Singh had not been dismissed from his position or jailed despite the charge being filed under such serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”
On the other hand, supporters of the Rashtriya Lok Dal told India Today that after reaching the collectorate on behalf of the Lok Dal, a memorandum was handed over to the district magistrate in the name of the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.
The memorandum requests the president to take strict action against those responsible for the harassment of “wrestler daughters”.
Speaking to India Today, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) district president Mukesh Kumar said that RLD men would soon arrive at Jantar Mantar after gathering in Delhi to support the female wrestlers.
