A Delhi Court docket has granted common bail to Congress chief and former union minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti within the Aircel Maxis case.

A Delhi Court docket on Wednesday granted common bail to former union minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram in corruption and cash laundering instances, in relation to the Aircel Maxis deal.
The Rouse Avenue courtroom had earlier granted anticipatory bail to each the accused within the case. The courtroom accepted the bail bonds of Rs one lakh every in each instances filed by the CBI and ED respectively.
Earlier, the courtroom had directed the companies to file a standing report within the Aircel Maxis case which was adjourned sine die.
AIRCEL MAXIS CASE
The case, which is being probed by the CBI and ED, pertains to alleged irregularities within the grant of Overseas Funding Promotion Board (FIPB) approval within the Aircel Maxis deal.
The FIPB approval was allegedly granted in 2006 when P Chidambaram was the Union finance minister.
The chargesheet was filed in 2018 towards P Chidambaram and former finance ministry officers. The case was then stalled as a result of a delay in acquiring sanctions for prosecution of all of the named accused.
