All-inclusive visionary Budget comes as boost for a self-reliant India: Amit Shah – Times of India

Reflecting the upbeat sentiments of BJP and party cadres over the announcements in the Union Budget, Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday welcomed several proposals like tax relief to the middle class and measures to empower women, tribals and the most backward classes.
“Thanks to Modi ji for giving huge tax relief to the middle and salaried class. The increase in tax rebate from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh and changes in tax slabs will greatly benefit the middle class. Along with this, I also welcome the relief given to government employees,” he said.
The tax relief is being seen as a gesture of reimbursing the middle class for their continued support to BJP. Shah said that the all-inclusive and visionary Budget would give further impetus to the resolve of the Modi government for a self-reliant India. “The target of increasing capital expenditure by 33% to Rs 10 lakh crore and keeping the fiscal deficit at 5.9% is commendable,” he said.
Shah also referred to the ‘PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana’, saying it would make a big difference in the lives of ‘Vishwakarmas’ (small artisans like goldsmiths, ironsmiths).
BJP president JP Nadda said, “It is a blueprint for India’s rapid growth and development which will ensure holistic progress of the country, particularly rural development, agriculture development, labourers’ welfare, infrastructure development, digital infra- structure and development of northeast and hilly regions of our country.”
He said the Budget would promote social justice, equality and provide equal opportunities to all. Defence minister Rajnath Singh said the Budget was expected to bring positive changes to lead India towards achieving the goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy.
“The increase in income tax exemption limit to Rs 7 lakh and several other tax related reforms will provide a huge relief to the middle class,” he said.
