Avatar: The Way Of Water collects 45 crores in it’s second day – Times of India

James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ has another massive box office collection on it’s second day. According to a report in Box Office India, the film which collected nearly 41 crores on day 1 went on to have a collection of 45 crores in it’s second day. With nearly 96 crores, the film will easily enter the 100 crore club and will be declared a hit film in India.

The film has shown a growth of around 5-10%. However, it could turn out to be more if southern markets hold a little better than expected. The film had huge numbers in Nizam, Andhra and Kerala on day 1. However, a downward trend of around 25-30% in these markets are expected which will leave South India down by around 10% taking into account there is some growth in Tamil Nadu and Mysore / Karnataka.

Despite the possible drop, the film is putting up huge numbers and will cross the Avenger Endgame numbers to become the highest grossing non South film in the circuit. The Hindi circuits have shown good growth on Saturday and will be up by around 20-25%.

The report also stated that, there is a solid 25% growth in the bigger circuits like Mumbai and North India but a growth in the ticket window on Sunday will be dependent on the mass circuits. The three-day weekend of the film is looking 125-130 crore nett at the moment but it can be more if Saturday can match up to that 10% growth.

Being made on an estimated budget of $350–400 million, it is one of the most expensive films of all time. The film recently bagged a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Director and Motion Picture category. It’s the sequel of the blockbuster movie Avatar which released 13 years ago.
