Ayushmann and producer Aanand L Rai, have written a heartfelt note regarding the feedback the film is getting. The note spoke about how for most members of the crew, this is their first film, including directed Anirudh Iyer. It also seems like a first for Ayushmann and Aanand since its their first action film. The note read, “As a team we are aligned and inclined to try and cause creative disruption.” They further added that, they’re humbled with all the love and positive feedback towards ‘An Action Hero’ and they hope this snowballs into more people coming to the theatres. At the end of the note, they asked the audience to “keep loving and supporting them.”
As per trade website boxofficeindia.com, ‘An Action Hero’ had collected about 1.25 crore on its opening day followed by a business of about 2crore on day 2. While there are great reviews coming in for the film, ‘Drishyam 2’ is still leading the pack despite being in its third week. So, the film is facing a major competition from this Ajay Devgn starrer along with Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’. ‘An Action Hero’ sees Ayushmann playing the role of an actor and it has more than just ‘action’ as it has much of an underlying message along with humour.
