Bhavana Pandey: Suhana Khan is a very hardworking and talented girl – Times of India

‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’ gave the audience a ringside view of the glam world. From fancy foods to plush parties, the Bollywood wives earned a fanclub of their own. From the awesome foursome, ETimes spoke to Bhavana Pandey, who shed light on being a star wife, enjoying the limelight and much more. Excerpts:
How much are you enjoying the limelight after ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’?
I think I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s been amazing, too much to be grateful for. I mean, at this age and stage of my life, I never thought I would do something like this and then get so much love and attention for it. I was really not even thinking in this way or had even imagined something like this would happen. So, it’s a surprise, but a beautiful and pleasant one.

Did the show in any way change you as a person?
I don’t know if it is the show or if it is generally getting older in life or the pandemic, but now I do feel like enjoying life in the present. I don’t worry too much about the future now, or what people think or have to say. I feel I have definitely become a little more confident and I don’t overthink so much like I used to.
This show gave a perspective of the lives of Bollywood wives. But beyond the cameras, how difficult or easy is it to be a star wife?
I think it is as easy or as difficult to be any wife. I think it’s just that in this role, you are more in the public eye. Today, if I look back, if I see my grandmother or my mother who’s always been a working woman, while making sure her marriage is working well and that her kids are being raised well. I feel all marriages have their own ups and downs and difficulties.

Has being in the public eye constantly changed you as a person? Have you become more conscious?
I have always been a little conscious person, usually aware of my actions. As a star wife, there are a few things but it doesn’t really bother me as much anymore. Constructive criticism and opinion from close ones matters but beyond that, it is only public perception. So you hear it, but you don’t have to take it.

You have literally seen Suhana Khan grow up in front of you. How thrilled are you about her debut?
I’m really, really looking forward to The Archies, to Suhana’s debut and to seeing all those kids. I’ve seen Suhana since she was a baby, and I’m not just saying it because she’s a friend’s daughter or she’s a child I’ve seen growing up, but she is a very hardworking and talented girl. I won’t say much about her debut, but the world will see for itself.

Can you shed some light on the third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives?
Season one and two have done extremely well so I’m hoping, praying and keeping my fingers crossed that it goes in a season three. Nothing’s confirmed yet. But I’m sure the minute it does happen or they decide to do it, we’ll all very proudly announce.

Have any opportunities opened up after your OTT debut?
No, nothing for me. I’d be lying if I said I’m flooded with offers. There also has to be an intent put out that I’m looking for more work or I want to do something like this. But I’m genuinely not interested in anything like that. I’m very happy doing the show, and I hope it goes into more seasons and I can continue doing that. And of course, you know, when there are ads, campaigns or events, that definitely I’m open to, and we enjoy doing that. I am also busy with my clothing brand and have a few new ideas which I want to explore further. So these things are keeping me busy.
