A video of an assistant superintendent of police based in Bihar’s Patna has been making the rounds on social media where he is seen getting a massage by police constables.

The police officer getting the massage has been identified as Manish Kumar, an assistant superintendent of police at Phulwari Sharif in Patna.
By Rohit Kumar Singh: A video of an assistant superintendent of police based in Bihar’s Patna has been making the rounds on social media where he is seen getting a massage by police constables.
The one getting the massage has been identified as Manish Kumar, ASP at Phulwari Sharif in Patna.

The police constables, who are seen giving the massage to the ASP, have written a letter to Patna’s senior superintendent of police
Manavjit Singh Dhillon apprising him of the incident, which took place on August 27 last year.
In the complaint, the constables mentioned that 10 of them, including four female constables, were asked to report from the police lines to ASP Manish Kumar to maintain law and order in Phulwari Sharif. While some of the constables were asked to give a massage to the ASP, other’s were asked to wash Kumar’s clothes at his residence.

The constables alleged that they were also beaten up and threatened with suspension if they did not follow the orders of the ASP.
“We are fed up with the activity of the ASP and many police constables are in depression. Whenever we go to the residence of the ASP, we are scared and think that as if we have done a big mistake by joining the police force,” said the constables in the letter to the SSP.
CPI (ML) legislator from Phulwari Sharif Gopal Ravidas said, “The matter is being investigated. When he (Kumar) was posted in Gaya, he allegedly beat up homeguard jawans for not giving him a massage and that case is still going on.”
