By India Today Web Desk: The Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP) strength in the Lok Sabha could be dented if the Congress party shape a coalition of like-minded parties at the earliest, said Bihar Chief Minister and JDU chief Nitish Kumar, adding that doing so would wrap up the saffron party with below 100 seats in the General Elections.
Suggesting the Congress Party not to lose the “momentum” gained by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatara, the JDU chief said, “I would like to tell my friends in the Congress that the Yatra went very well. But they must not stop at that.”
Nitish Kumar, BJP’s former ally, said his exit from the NDA eroded the footprints the BJP wanted to expand in Bihar.
He also expressed concern over rising communal tensions in the country, asserting “Hindus and Muslims had lived in peace despite the blood-soaked legacy of partition”.

Taking a dig at the RSS, an ideological mentor of the BJP, Kumar said, “those who had played no role in the struggle for Independence are now trying to rewrite history”.
He targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, accusing it of muffling dissenting voices with the help of the central investigating agencies.
“Jo koi bhi kahta hai kuchh gadbad hai, uske saath kya hota hai (just look at what happens to those who point out anything wrong)”, the JD(U) said.
