By India Today News Desk: The BJP will return to power with a full majority in 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said at the India Today Conclave 2023.
“Only the people of the country can decide who the next prime minister will be and which party will be in charge. I go to every part of the country and I try my best to forge a bond with the people. I have felt the pulse of the people of the country and I want to tell everyone through your channel that the BJP will return to power with a full majority in 2024 and Modi ji will return as prime minister for the third straight term, something that will happen for the first time since 1970,” Shah said to rousing cheers.”

ON NEHRU ERA AND INDIRA ERA
Speaking about what sets Narendra Modi apart from Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Amit Shah said, “As far as Modi ji is concerned, he has worked to awaken the ambition in people. The 60 crore poor Indians who couldn’t dare to dream, Modi ji has made them dream. And he has planted this hope among Indians that when the country celebrates its 100 years of Independence, India will be in the top spot globally and will lead every sector across the world.”
He added, “Everyone has tried their best to work for the country in line with their understandings, powers and the times. Every time has its own challenges. Every person has different abilities. Every person has a different vision. But I believe that they have all worked to the best of their abilities.”

ON OPPOSITION PARTIES
Amit Shah blamed the Opposition for regularly disrupting Parliament proceedings. “Debates happen in Parliament on the basis of rules. It cannot happen like it happens on roads,” he said, adding, “Rahul Gandhi was able to unfurl the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar without any security because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
