Throughout the Week
- Here are our ideas for (free and low-cost) ways supervisors can show their appreciation for their student employees. This year, supervisors can also download our free recognition templates to give their student employees as certificates!
- Swing by Beans to check out their specialty drinks in honor of our Student Employees & Supervisor of the Year! Try the Oatmeal Cookie CAPpucino, the Andres, or the Jordan!
- Join in some community art! Add your thoughts to the chalk wall in the Community Commons first floor.
- Learn how our Student Employee & Supervisor of the Year nominees have embodied key career skills through nominee highlights on our Instagram page! Feel free to share your appreciation there as well!

Do you have questions about working on campus, or just want to say hi to the people behind the inbox? Swing by the student employment table on the first floor of the Community Commons between 12:00 and 2:00 pm on Monday! We’ll have snacks, swag, and some fun activities!

Program & Event Planning (Student Employees Achieve Series)
Planning a program, an event, or even a meeting is much more than just who, what, where, and when! It requires thinking critically through your goals, learning outcomes, and methodologies. Join the Office of Student Engagement and the Office of Student Employment for a workshop where we will get you all set to think through your next program or event!
- We recommend that this training be counted as paid professional development — please speak with your supervisor to see if this is possible. This training will be most relevant to student employees who plan, implement, and assess programs or events, but all are welcome.
- If you would be better able to participate in this webinar with an accommodation, or for other accessibility questions, send us a note at [email protected]. We want everyone to be able to fully engage!
- For students participating in the Student Employees Achieve (SEA) Badge program, this training will fulfill the Critical Thinking competency requirement.

Build Yourself a Gift with Innovation Labs!
Maker Space (first floor of Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science)
Join one of DU’s biggest student employers, Innovation Labs, to make your own laser-engraved National Student Employment Week magnet! While you’re there, you can also tour the facilities and learn about all the (free!) crafty opportunities open to DU students in the Labs. The Student Employment team will be there too to answer any questions you might have. Light snacks will be provided!
