The Indian Coast Guard mentioned it rescued the eight-member crew of a service provider vessel on Saturday after it acquired stranded 18 nautical miles off Beypore in Kozhikode district of Kerala. The Coast Guard was alerted by a misery name from MSV Bilal which reported water ingress and engine failure whereas continuing to Lakshadweep.

“On ascertaining that the water ingress has resulted in engine breakdown warranting rapid repairs, the MSV was taken underneath tow by the Coast Guard ship to put of refuge in coordination with the CG interceptor boat,” a press launch from the Coast Guard mentioned. The Coast Guard ship ‘Vikram’ responded to the decision and supplied help. Additionally, interceptor boat C-404 on patrol was diverted for augmented assist, the discharge mentioned. Contemplating the state of affairs, Vikram deployed a technical crew and boarded the stranded MSV for situational evaluation.
