Six more people succumbed to their injuries after a gas cylinder blast caused a fire in a village in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan.

By Ashok Sharma: The death toll in the fire caused by a cylinder blast at a village in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur increased to 18 as six more succumbed to their injuries on Monday. A house had caught on fire during a wedding event, injuring around 60 people.
Jodhpur District Rural Superintendent of Police Anil Kayal said that among those who died in the accident, nine were children, eight were women. Of the patients admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, the condition of five patients is critical and treatment of 34 patients is going on.
Sources told India Today that among those who died on Monday was the groom’s mother.

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat visited the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital before leaving for Delhi and talked to the doctors and inquired about the well-being of the patients.
Congress MLA from Shergarh Meena Kanwar visited the accident site in Bhungra village on Monday and inspected it along with the police and administrative officials. She said government officers and employees should give their one-day salary as financial help to the families of the victims of the accident.
The president of Jodhpur Ambulance Drivers Association, Mukesh, said that in regards to this accident, a free ambulance is being provided by the union to take the dead body from Jodhpur to his village. In this entire incident, 18 patients have died so far.
