Deepika Padukone heads to LA ahead of big Oscar appearance; proud hubby Ranveer Singh sees her off

With the Oscars just around the corner, Deepika Padukone flew out of the city, early Friday morning, well in time for her big appearance.
Rocking a geek-chic look, the actress was happy to pose for the paparazzi before flying out. For her trip to Los Angeles, Deepika opted for comfy jeans, a turtle-neck top, a tailored jacket and statement high heels.

The actress, could not hold back her smile when a cameraman complimented her and said, “Ma’am aap cute lag rahe ho.”
Deepika will be among the long list of stars who will be presenting at the Academy Awards. She will join a host of Hollywood stars including Pedro Pascal, Kate Hudson, Harrison Ford, Halle Berry, Paul Dano, Cara Delevingne, Mindy Kaling, Eva Longoria, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Andie MacDowell, Elizabeth Olsen and John Travolta.

Previously announced presenters include Dwayne Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Jonathan Majors, Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh and Halle Bailey. Antonio Banderas, Elizabeth Banks, Jessica Chastain, John Cho, Hugh Grant, Danai Gurira, Salma Hayek Pinault, Nicole Kidman, Sigourney Weaver, Riz Ahmed, Emily Blunt, Glenn Close, Jennifer Connelly, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael B. Jordan, Troy Kotsur, Melissa McCarthy, Janelle Monáe, Questlove, Zoe Saldana and Donnie Yen round out the full list of presenters.

This is the first time that Deepika will walk the Oscar red carpet and present at the award show. Fans will likely get a peek of DP and her celebrity partner for the awards night when she takes the stage during the practice round held before the big day.

This year, there will be several familiar faces at the Oscars. Besides DP, SS Rajamouli and the cast of ‘RRR’ are set to attend the award show. The ‘RRR’ Oscar-nominated song ‘Naatu Naatu’ which is tipped to be the frontrunner, will also be performed LIVE on the big stage.

Producer Guneet Monga and director Shaunak Sen, whose documentaries ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ and ‘All That Breathes’ are up for Best Documentary Short and Best Documentary awards.

The annual awards show will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. Fans can tune in to catch the action LIVE at 6.30 am IST.
