In the wee hours of January 1, a 20-year-old woman died after she was dragged by a car for about 12 km.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Nidhi was seated on the two-wheeler that Anjali was driving. Their vehicle met with an accident with a car and Anjali, who got stuck under the car, was dragged from Delhi’s Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala. Nidhi fled from the site after sustaining minor injuries.
When asked why she did not tell the police, Nidhi said that she was scared and she went back home on foot. “I became very hopeless. The only thing I had in mind was to go back home. I thought the men in the car would stop the car eventually and help her out.”
In an interview, Nidhi told India Today that the men who were inside the car could hear her screams but they did not stop.
