A total of 15 Dinosaur statues, made from scrap waste, will be installed at the Waste to Wonder Park in Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan as part of Phase 2. These will be movable and made out of 250 tonnes of scrap.

By Ram Kinkar Singh: The second phase of the “Waster to Wonder” will have dinosaur statues. As many as 15 movable dinosaur structures will be constructed from approximately 250 tonnes of scrap material and developed on 3.50 acres of land.
On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, laid the foundation stone for the “Waste to Wonder Park” Phase II at Sarai Kale Khan. The Waste-to-Wealth park already houses the seven wonders of the world that were made from waste and scrap.
In Phase II, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will carry forward this concept by constructing the park based on the theme of Dinosaurs. This would be a great attraction for children. Ahead of the G20 Summit, such a project is expected to enhance the beauty & green cover of the national capital.
In the second phase, 15 movable and standing structures of dinosaurs, like Coelophysis, Brontosaurus, Velociraptor, Tsintausaurus, Deinosuchus, Deinonychus, Rajasaurus, Prenocepahale, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Amargasaurus, Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Diplodocus and Stegosaurus will be installed. Further, the park will be illuminated by ornamental lighting and aesthetic sounds.
The park’s landscape will be done by planting trees, shrubs, grass and ornamental plants etc. The park would have sitting facilities, a connecting walkway to all the sculptures, garden huts and a food court area for visitors. This dinosaur theme park will be constructed at the cost of Rs 13.72 crores.
The Delhi L-G also flagged off four tree-pruning hydraulic lift machines. These machines will be beneficial in pruning big trees. With the help of hydraulic buckets fitted on these machines, the workers will be able to prune trees in a safe and easy way.
