By India Today Web Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in an exclusive interview with India Today, said the work done by the “double-engine government” has propelled the state on the path of development in the last six years.
Investment is the buzzword for CM Adityanath, who stated that investments worth over Rs 4 lakh crore were received at the Global Investors Summit in 2018.
“In the last six years, UP’s economic growth has been exceptional. Uttar Pradesh is one of India’s leading investment destinations,” Adityanath said while speaking to Rahul Kanwal.
“The state has surplus revenue. The state has fertile land, good administration, law and order, cheap and efficient manpower and a strong base for MSMEs,” the chief minister said.
MSMEs have turned UP into an export hub, he added.
Reiterating that no one had attempted to unlock UP’s potential, Adityanath said that the state has its own land bank and that infrastructure development projects completed in the last six years, such as the construction of new expressways, airports, and metros, are attracting investment into the state.
The state is set to organise multiple events ahead of the Global Investors Summit on February 10.
The summit will serve as a unique platform for business networking, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnership by bringing together business leaders, political and economic dignitaries, entrepreneurs, and industry partners from across the globe.
When asked about claims made by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav that the state was developed under his government, Yogi Adityanath said the former CM is not ready to accept the truth.
“Had the SP-led government been in power, companies like Samsung and TCS would have left the state. After coming to power, I called the officials of both firms and sorted out the issue,” Adityanath said.
Yogi Adityanath further said that infrastructure has been aiding development and that investments in UP are more than the state’s GDP.
