Farhan Akhtar has been busy performing his original English songs for the first time live in Mumbai. The actor recently spilled some beans on people’s reaction to his voice.

In an interview with a news portal, Farhan revealed that people have come to love his unique, husky voice. But initially the response to it was a ‘mixed bag’. According to him, there are some people who liked it, and there were also some who didn’t like it. That is part and parcel of life. The actor added that you can’t expect everyone to love everything you do all the time.

Elaborating further, Farhan added that what’s important is that over time, he feels the love of people wherever he goes. At the end of the day, people who come to his concert have a good time. The actor added that he makes sure that his performance and his singing is good. He also stated that he is constantly improving. People mimic his voice, they can’t mimic his style, Akhtar told Hindustan Times.

In the same interview, Farhan also revealed that originally, this live performance was scheduled for 2020, but the pandemic struck and delayed everything. Recalling the same, the actor said that the world came to a standstill, all plans were cancelled. According to him, it’s this year that the live music scene is coming back into its own. It has been a struggle for people who are organising these events, they did lose a lot of money in the last two years, it’s not been easy for them, for whatever it’s worth, to say ‘okay let’s put on a gig of English music’; They would right now much rather have the robust Hindi music playing, to get the excitement going.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Farhan will soon be directing ‘Jee Le Zaraa’. He has roped in actors like Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif together for the first time.
