Farooq Abdullah praises MK Stalin, bats for DMK chief as PM

By Pramod Madhav: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is celebrating his 70th birthday today, March 1, with warm wishes pouring in from celebrities, political leaders, and volunteers.

Former Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) president Farooq Abdullah is also a part of his birthday celebrations, among other leaders.

While talking to the media at the celebrations, Abdullah said, “It’s a wonderful beginning. Stalin and DMK have done very well for the unity of the nation. India is unity in diversity. If you protect diversity, you’ll protect unity.”

On being asked what the chances are of Stalin becoming the prime minister, Farooq Abdullah said, “Why not? What is wrong about it?”

Farooq Abdullah was also asked that has CM Stalin become a holding pin in bringing the opposition together now. To which he answered, “I think he has started to become a holding pin and I pray to God that it helps him further to strengthen the nation.”

A mega-public rally has been organised by the ruling party and senior political leaders to celebrate Stalin’s birthday. Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge, former Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Bihar Deputy CM and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav are a part of the celebrations.

Earlier in the day, Stalin paid floral tribute to his father and former CM M Karunanidhi as well as to ex-CM and DMK founder CN Annadurai, at their memorials in Chennai today.
