By India Today News Desk: Ashraf Ahmed’s last words just before he was shot at point blank range, along with his brother Atiq Ahmed, left a whiff of curiosity as he couldn’t complete the full sentence and collapsed.
“Main baat yeh hai ki Guddu Muslim… (the main point is that Guddu Muslim),” these were the last words uttered by Ashraf before bullets ripped his body.
Guddu Muslim is one of the 10 people named in the FIR of Umesh Pal murder. Six of them have been killed, and Guddu Muslim is one of the four people who are on the run.
According to a source, Ashraf knew about some key information about Guddu Muslim and wanted to convey it to the media.
Ashraf wanted to inform the media that Guddu Muslim was under arrest. He had shared the same information with one of his associates, sources told India Today. However, he was shot dead before he could complete the entire sentence.
The three assailants, posing as journalists, used Zigana pistols (a semi-automatic pistol produced by a Turkish firm) to eliminate both Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf. The shooters fired over a dozen rounds in just 22 seconds in the presence of a police team on April 15.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday found blood stains inside the partially demolished office of slain gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed.
Blood stains were found splattered on the stairs, and on a piece of white cloth kept on a sofa in the office located in the Chakia area of Prayagraj. It is not clear whose blood stains they were.
