As soon as she landed in Mumbai, her fans, family and friends gave her a warm welcome at the airport. Guneet not only posed with her prestigious award but also spoke to the media stationed outside the airport.
Dressed in a printed green co-ord set, Guneet looked absolutely stylish. She completed her look with a long black trench coat and matching shoes. Flashing her million dollar smile, Guneet was seen pausing and posing for the paparazzi.
Talking about her historic win, she told ANI, “We had a big competition. There was another film in our category supported by Malala Yousazai. Our film worked across countries, ages…the kind of love we are getting from across the world, the film worked its magic.”
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Guneet said that they witnessed the power of storytelling after their win at the Oscars. She revealed that the state government announced Rs 1 lakh from the CM Relief Fund for each of the 91 elephant caretakers in the two camps of the state, as a token of appreciation. It also allocated Rs 9.1 crore to build homes for mahouts and Rs 5 crore has been allotted to develop an elephant camp in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. CM MK Stalin has also facilitated Bommon and Bellie.
Happy with the difference she has managed to make, Monga added that they will continue to tell stories that matter and stories that make a difference.
