Has Eros Now shut down? Users complain about the OTT platform lying non-operational for more than 10

There seems to be something wrong with Eros Now. The South Asian entertainment platform owned by Eros Media World Plc has been lying non-operational for more than 10 days. It has now sparked speculations that the Eros Media World may have decided to pull the plug on its OTT platform.
Several paid subscribers have flooded the review section on Play Store complaining about the app being non-operational for the past few days. Many people said that the server of Eros Now has been down and they are unable to open the app on TV or their mobile phones. Even the website of the OTT platform is down. The reason behind Eros Now being non-operational is yet to be known.

In 2019, it was reported that Eros Now was not able to take off in the market as desired. However, Kishore Lulla, the group chairman and CEO of Eros International, had defended its stance saying that Eros Now had exceeded the target of 16 million subscribers by registering 18.8 million paid subscribers and 154.7 million registered users for the year, as quoted by Mint.
Last year, Eros Now had announced the expansion of its presence in Australia by introducing a new distribution partnership with the Australian content aggregation platform Fetch TV.

“Streaming platforms are gaining popularity worldwide and have emerged as a key driver for multilingual content across wider audience segment. Fetch TV has been a leading aggregator of streaming services and other entertainment content in the Australian market for over 10 years. This collaboration will certainly help us enhance our horizons in terms of international audience and their preferences, and further strengthen our offering,” Ali Hussein, CEO of Eros Now, had said in a statement.
