Kamal Haasan and Shantanu Hazarika are yet to watch ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ for

Shruti Haasan is on cloud nine these days with two of her big Telugu films namely ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ doing wonders at the box office. These KS Ravindra and Gopichand Malineni directorials were released during the Pongal/Sankranthi festival so that majority of the audience can watch the film. The films are getting mixed to positive reviews from the audience. Shruti, who was super happy with the responses, said to ETimes, “Sankranthi was amazing with two big film releases and I also made Pongal and served them to my friends and family in Mumbai, except my pet and my boyfriend Shantanu Hazarika as they don’t like it.”
The actress-singer, who was paired opposite veteran actors Chiranjeevi and Nandmuri Balakrishna in the films, feels that one gets to learn more things while working with senior actors. “It’s not about being comfortable. When one works with senior actors, one gets to learn a lot from them. And working with both Chiranjeevi sir and Balayya sir has been the most cherishing and learning experience for me,” shared Shruti.

Shruti Haasan has appeared on the big screen after a long hiatus and soon she will also make her debut in the Kannada industry with Prashanth Neel’s ‘Salaar’ opposite Prabhas. The actress admitted that she opted to do these films since she wanted to connect with her audience, “The major reason why I opted for these movies is that I had been off-screen for a while now and I wanted to make a comeback into Telugu films. So these movies were a great opportunity to connect with my audience,” said Shruti.
Shruti’s father Kamal Haasan who is currently working on Shankar’s next film ‘Indian 2’ has not watched either of the two films. “My father Mr Kamal Haasan has not watched both of my movies and also my boyfriend hasn’t seen them as both of them are very very busy with their respective work,” says Shruti.

The father-daughter duo may have not shared the screen space but they certainly discuss films with each other. “Yes, we do discuss projects but at a very initial level and don’t go much into details. And I don’t think Mr. Kamal Haasan needs my suggestion (chuckles),” Shruti signs off the conversation in a very jovial way.

Shruti will also feature in an international project, ‘The Eye’ which will release this year. The actress was shooting for the same in Greece last year. She also has a single that will be released soon.
