As Argentina’s fans celebrated the country’s win at the 2022 Fifa World Cup against France, clashes erupted resulting in several injured cops and a man being stabbed.

By Shibimol KG: The celebrations in Kerala after Argentina’s win at the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar took a chaotic turn as police officers were attacked and a man in Kannur was stabbed. The ordeal also resulted in the injury of several football fans.
In Kochi’s Kaloor, a civil police officer was attacked by fans when he asked them to stop blocking the traffic. The football fans were blocking the traffic on the road and celebrating Argentina’s win. The police officer was attacked and dragged on the road when he tried to question them.

In Kannur, five people stabbed Anurag (24) who was returning home after watching the final match between Argentina and France. Sources told India Today that a fight had broken out after the screening of the match near the Palliyamoola Nethaji Arts and Sports Club that led to the stabbing.
Anurag was critically injured and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kannur. His friends who tried to stop the fight were also hit on the head with a cricket stump. An FIR has been filed on the matter under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
In Thiruvananthapuram, police officers were beaten up and the Sub Inspector of Pozhiyoor station was injured while trying to control a drunken group that was creating a ruckus in the area.
The 2022 Fifa World Cup came to a close on Sunday with Argentina taking home the trophy after 36 years. The Argentina team led by Lionel Messi beat the defending champions France 4-2 on penalties. In other parts of the world, too, chaos erupted as the celebrations took a sour turn.
