At a recent event, actor Neetu Chandra was quizzed on the same and she said that this is not something new. Answering a pap, she said, “Ye sabke sath hota hai, it is not like kisi ek ke sath hota hai (it happens with everyone, not any one person).” She further added, “If you don’t come from a film family, you have to fight for opportunities in this industry. It takes time to do good work. Priyanka has felt it, I have felt it. A lot of other people have felt it. The point is whether you can come forward and speak about it or not. Like I have said earlier also.”
Earlier Priyanka expressed her displeasure over her innings in Bollywood and had said, “I was not happy with the work I was getting in Bollywood. I am going to talk about this for the first time because I feel insecure to talk about it. Anjali Acharya of Desi Hits once saw me in a music video and called me. At that time I was shooting for Saat Khoon Maaf. Anjali asked me if I would like to make my music career in America? I was looking for an escape from Bollywood at that time. I was looking for some way to get out of here. I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. People were not casting me. I had complaints with people. I am not good at playing those kinds of games. I was tired of politics and I needed a break.”
Priyanka, along with husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti arrived in Mumbai yesterday for the launch of a cultural centre.
