Riddhima Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Maheep Kapoor and others showered Neetu Kapoor’s post with love. Rishi and Neetu Kapoor had tied the knot on January 22, 1980 and this would have been their 43rd wedding anniversary. This charming couple redefined love for the big screen with this hits like ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ to name a few. Rishi Kapoor passed away in April 2020 after a two-year long battle with cancer. His last onscreen appearance was Hitesh Bhatia’s ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’, wherein his pending portions were wrapped by Paresh Rawal.
After Rishi Kapoor’s demise, Neetu Kapoor turned to films and marked her comeback with ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’. Speaking about the same, Neetu had told ETimes, “When my husband passed away we were all very sad and we didn’t know what was going on. So Karan (Johar) and Ranbir were at my house having dinner, both my children, my daughter and Ranbir were discussing what I was going to do next. And I said ‘I never know’. I never thought that I’ll be doing a movie. Ranbir suggested that I start working again, at that time I didn’t know how it would happen. Karan, who was also present there said that ‘I’m going to dig up a subject for you, main kal aa raha hu”. He came the next day, with a director, and they read the script. I liked it so much I was sure to do it.” Neetu Kapoor is now gearing up for her OTT debut with a coming-of-age movie co-starring Sunny Kaushal and Shraddha Srinath.
