PM Modi to address top military commanders in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on April 1

By Manjeet Negi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the top military commanders of the Indian armed forces in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on April 1 and will discuss with them the present and future security challenges.

The three-day combined commanders’ conference is scheduled to be held at Kushabhau Thakre Hall from March 30 to April 1.

The prime minister is expected to discuss the present security challenges and the implementation of ongoing schemes and projects for enhancing integration and jointness in the defence forces.

On the other hand, the defence forces will brief the prime minister on matters related to jointness related to the creation of theatre commands. The military will also showcase their innovations and implementation of the Make in India in the defence sector.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, is expected to address the top brass of the military including the three services chiefs on the first day of the event, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address the military top brass the next day.

The innovations expected to be showcased to the prime minister will likely include a machine pistol named Asmi, which Lt Col Prasad Bansod of the Indian Army has developed.

The military officers, apart from the CDS and services chiefs at the event, will include the three Vice Chiefs, CISC, seven Army command chiefs, six air command chiefs and the three command chiefs from the Indian Navy.
