By Aishwarya Paliwal: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to increase participation of women in social awareness programmes and the same will be discussed at the annual general body meeting of the RSS.
RSS joint general secretary Manmohan Vaidya said on Sunday that women volunteers will be seen in shakhas across the country soon.
The RSS has been accused of being anti-women even after having a large number of women in organisations like Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, ABVP, Durga Vahini and Bharat Vikas Parishad.

Last year, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the RSS of “suppressing women” and claimed that that was the reason why the organisation has no female members.
Sources told India Today that participation of women will be discussed and approved in the Sangh meeting.
On the expansion plans of the RSS, Vaidya said that the Sangh is working at 71,355 places across India and it aims to reach 1 lakh places before 2025, that is the 100th year of the RSS.
