Salman Khan reveals he had shared plans of a Tere Naam sequel with Satish Kaushik, before the actor

Satish Kaushik passed away on March 8 and his close friend and associate Salman Khan had taken to social media to share a message that read, “Always loved cared n respected him n shall alway remember him for the man that he was. May his soul rest in peace n strength to family n loved ones. .. #RIP Satish Ji.”
Kaushik and Salman had a special association. One of Salman’s biggest hits and one of his best performances came in Tere Naam (2003) which was directed by Satish Kaushik. Many years on, Kaushik had discussed the idea for Tere Naam 2 with Salman Khan.

In a recent interaction with the media around his upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Salman was reminded about Tere Naam. Salman revealed that 20 years ago, Satish kaushik had discussed just a one line idea for the film and Salman had thought back then that it was a super idea. Incidentally Salman Khan’s heroine from Tere Naam, Bhumika Chawla, plays actor Venkatesh’s wife in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Salman also mentioned that before Kaushik passed away, he still had a prolific association with him. Apparently, Kaushik completed a shoot for Salman’s film, shot for Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan’s film. Not just that, Kaushik managed to complete the script for a third project under Salman’s supervision, a film that Kaushik was supposed to direct as well. After his stint in Delhi, Kaushik was slated to go on a recce for the third film. But unfortunately, he passed away on the ill-fated trip to the capital.

Salman further revealed that he had discussed a plot for Tere Naam and what would have happened in the story 20 years later. He had shared the plot with Satish Kaushik and the ‘Mr India’ star had promised Salman that he would start working on the script soon. Holding back his emotions, Salman said he will consider staging plans for the Tere Naam sequel at some point in the future.
