Talking about the same with Indian Express, Shefali said that she had the pleasure of working with incredible people. She also revealed that she has only worked with one actor and director who were extremely offensive.Besides that, she has worked with directors who think actors are not just actors, they are collaborators. The actress then laughed and made it clear that she will never playAkshay Kumar’s mother on screen again in her life.
In the same interview, she opened up about her journey in the entertainment industry, highlighting the challenges she faced in bagging roles despite receiving accolades for her work. She shared how people called her ‘one of the finest actresses in the country’, but she didn’t get any work. She won awards, but she didn’t get any work. According to her, if validation can only decorate her walls, it is redundant.
She went on to add that she has been working for 25-30 years, but she has started really working in the last four years. Her career has been more about waiting than working.
When asked who, according to her, were stars she said that Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are stars and they are always going to be stars. Same was with Dilip Kumar Sahab. Talking about stars among the current generation of actors, Shefali said that Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are stars. She also concluded by saying that she is not a star and she doesn’t want to be one.
