By Pramod Madhav: Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi claimed that there is a rise in atrocities against Dalits, taking a jibe at the DMK government’s claim of upholding ‘social justice’.
Governor Ravi said that earlier BR Ambedkar was only used for political reasons, which were changed after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister.
“Even here in Tamil Nadu we talk so much about social justice but every other day we hear some atrocity against Dalits. Either human feces are put in the water tank of a Dalit colony or they will be publicly humiliated or not allowed to enter the temple or Anganwadi schools will be separated,” claimed Governor Ravi.

Speaking on crime against Dalits, he said that the response of law enforcement and the criminal justice system is awful.
“It pains to know that in our state, only 7 per cent of rapes against Dalit women end in conviction. This is the data which means 93 of the 100 rapists go scot free and we talk about social justice,” claimed Governor Ravi.
He also said that the CAF reports show that 30 per cent of the funds allocated for building homes for Dalits go unspent while the remaining funds are diverted for other purposes.
Governor Ravi stated that a lot has changed since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister.
“Now the world listens with attention when PM Modi speaks,” added Ravi.
