By India Today Web Desk: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday spelled out his goal as he walked through the streets of Punjab, leading Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
In a social media post, Rahul Gandhi wrote about Punjab and its prosperity.
“Blessed by five rivers, Punjab is known for its fertile land. But even nature’s gifts must be nurtured and worked upon for them to yield benefits. It is the Tapasya of the people of Punjab that has turned this land of great opportunity into a land of prosperity over time,” Rahul Gandhi wrote.
The Wayanad MP added that the tapasya has made the people of Punjab fearless, generous, warm, and compassionate.
“As I walk through this remarkable state,” Rahul Gandhi continued, “every heart I connect with has a common story to tell—a story of relentless efforts to protect the country’s interests, a story of true love for India.”
The Gandhi scion went on to spell out his goal and what he aims to achieve through his yatra.
“It is only when the Tapasya of every single Indian is respected and supported with the right opportunities, can India be truly transformed into a land of abundant prosperity. That is my goal,” he stated.
The march, which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7, will conclude in Srinagar by January 30, with Rahul Gandhi hoisting the national flag in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
