PM Modi visited Tamil Nadu on Saturday where he flagged off a Vande Bharat Express train, inaugurated the new Chennai Airport terminal, participated in celebrations commemorating the 125th Anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Math, among other things.

By India Today News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the new integrated terminal at the Chennai airport, flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express train, and underscored his government’s commitment to the development of the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
While on his visit to Chennai, the prime minister also meditated at the at the Vivekananda House and addressed a public meeting.

PM Modi inaugurated the Rs 1,260 crore New Integrated Terminal Building (Phase-1) of the Chennai International Airport. The addition of this facility will increase the passenger serving capacity of the airport from 23 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) to 30 MPPA.
The PM was seen having some cordial moments with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin while going around the terminal, holding the CM’s hand while the latter patted him as both smiled.

PM flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express. PM Modi also interacted with school students in the train.
“The wonderful cities of Chennai and Coimbatore have even better connectivity thanks to the Vande Bharat Express. Flagged off the train and also met young friends on the occasion,” the PM later tweeted.

PM Modi expressed happiness over being among the Tamil people. He also participated in celebrations commemorating the 125th Anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Math.
“Ramakrishna Math is an institution that I deeply respect. It has played an important role in my life. I am among the Tamil people, for whom I have great affection. l love the Tamil language, Tamil culture and the vibe of Chennai,” PM Modi said.

During his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India has been witnessing a revolution in terms of infrastructure.
“It is the time for new hopes, new aspirations and new beginnings. Some new generation infrastructure projects will begin to serve the people from today. In the past few years, India has been witnessing a revolution in terms of infrastructure. It is driven by Speed and Scale,” PM Modi said in Chennai.

PM Modi underscored the Centre’s push for Tamil Nadu’s growth and pointed to the allocation of a record Rs 10 lakh crore investment in infrastructure. “This is five times more than that of 2014,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister underlined the speed and scale of work now, be it the national highway development, rail line electrification, and increase in number of airports before 2014 and after the NDA regime assumed power. India has more rural internet users than urban users and the nation is the world’s number one in digital transactions.
