Tollywood actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna passes away – Times of India

Taraka Ratna’s health condition as reported earlier was very critical today and finally breathed his last just before in Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Bengaluru. He was on the bed for the last 23 days ever since he suffered a massive heart attack on Jan 27th and fainted all of a sudden at a roadshow in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. The Roadshow event named ‘Yuva Galam’ was a political foot march, launched by his cousin Nara Lokesh for their Telugu Desam Party.

Soon after his fainting on Jan 27th, he was given the PCR and other primary first aid at the venue, later taken to the nearby hospital (PES) at Kuppam. It was reported that his heart stopped functioning for some time before he was brought to the hospital at Kuppam and recovered a few minutes later and the same night around 2:00 AM he was taken to the Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Bengaluru, as the hospital is specialized in Advanced cardiology services.

Since then he has been treated in the above hospital for around 23 days and A couple of days back the management of the hospital has brought a couple of cardiology specialists from the US for additional support & services too Taraka Ratna. They are said to have treated him with Balloon Angioplasty, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump and vasoactive support for couple of days before his final breath.
Nandamuri Taraka Ratna is survived by his wife Alekhya Reddy and a daughter. His father Nandamuri Mohan Krishna is a noted cinematographer in Tollywood and Taraka is a grandson to the Veteran Telugu actor and former Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri. NT Rama Rao and a nephew to Tollywood superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna. Telugu actors JrNTR and Kalyan Ram are his cousins.

Taraka Ratna shares a great bond with his uncle Nandamuri Balakrishna which has been displayed publicly time and again and Balakrishna was also a big support for his love marriage. Ever since the above incident, Balakrishna has stayed there in Bengaluru and was taking care of Taraka Ratna.

Taraka Ratna made his film acting debut with the 2002 romance film ‘Okato Number Kurraadu’ under the direction of K. Raghavendra Rao and has acted in several other Telugu films in the lead roles. He was last seen on-screen in ‘Saradhi’ and ‘S5 NO Exit’ last year. He also made his OTT debut in 2022 and acted in a web series titled ‘9 Hours’.

Taraka Ratna received ‘Best Villain state Nandi award’ for his performance in the 2009 film ‘Amaravathi’.

All his family members have reached the Benguluru hospital this evening and several Tollywood celebs started condoling his demise as he passed away on the auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri.
