By India Today Web Desk: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir Bharat Jodo Yatra, explained why he continues to wear a t-shirt even in chilly weather.
Addressing a press conference during the yatra’s Haryana leg, the Gandhi scion said it all started when he saw three poor children during yatra’s Madhya Pradesh leg.
“When yatra reached MP, it was mildly cold. Three poor children came to me in torn shirts, they were shivering when I held them. That day, I decided until I shiver I will only be wearing a t-shirt,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“When I start shivering and feel cold, I would think to wear a sweater,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi and his t-shirt have been a talking point since the yatra entered northern India.
“Jab tak chal rahi hai chalayenge,” the Wayanad MP had said when questions were raised about the white t-shirt he has been wearing since the beginning of the Bharat Jodo yatra.
While many on the other side of the political spectrum have called it a gimmick, his party colleagues have hailed him as a superhuman for bravely braving the cold wave and continuing on his quest.
The answer to why Rahul Gandhi doesn’t feel cold actually lies in science.
